¡ @The number of visits to the NEOS website has exceeded 100,000.@¡   
The number of visits to the NEOS website since its launch in April 1998 has already exceeded 100,000, reaching 103,521 on July 7. The website has been expanding and growing through the persistent efforts of the Public Relations Committee, including release of information on activities undertaken by All Japan Neon-Sign Association and establishment of gHot Contacth as an arena of mutual communication among association members, in addition to a diverse selection of articles such as gWorld Signh by Editor-in-Chief Hiroyuki Ono, gTopicsh and various articles in the readerfs column.
The English pages also enjoy a constant stream of visits from overseas, and hWorld Signg will appear as a series of articles in the (web-based) newsletters for members of the International Sign Association (ISA), an international outdoor advertisement organization.

¡ @Neon signs were turned off at various locations again this year.@¡ 
As part of the measures to prevent global warming, the Global Environment Bureau under the Ministry of the Environment ran the gCO2 Reduction/Circle of 1 Million Peopleh campaign again this year for three days on June 18 (Saturday), 19 (Sunday) and 21 (Tuesday, summer solstice).
On the 19th (Sunday), gLight Down 2005 - Black Illuminationh was performed from 8:00 to 10:00 pm according to annual custom, during which the electricity supply for lighting facilities, neon signs, billboards and individual households was turned off all at once.
As companies take more and more serious measures against environmental issues, the number of advertisers participating in this campaign is continuously increasing year by year; the number of participating facilities in 2003 was 2,278, in 2004 there were 6,088 participants, and in 2005 the number reached 22,716.

¡ @Rollout of gOutdoor Advertisement Dayh Campaign@¡ 
The 32nd gOutdoor Advertisement Dayh campaign, which widely emphasizes the enhancement of advertisement ethics and the sociality of the outdoor advertisement industry, will be rolled out simultaneously nationwide according to annual custom from September 1 to November 31.
The slogan of this year is gOutdoor Advertisement, Flourishing and Made the Most of in Daily Life.h 10,000 B2-sized posters (4-color printing) will be hung at participating business institutions and labor union offices, displayed on vehicles and so forth throughout the nation and various activities will be performed.
