 Concretization of registration system for outdoor advertising agencies    
The registration system of agencies, based on the revision of the outdoor advertising law, is taking on a more concrete form as the ordinances by local governments are being developed. The introductory status of the local government ordinances as of the end of July is as follows:

Prefectures: Miyagi, Akita, Fukushima, Yamanashi, Gifu, Shiga, Hyogo, Nara, Wakayama, Ehime
Cities: Sendai, Chiba, Kyoto, Kobe, Akita, Iwaki, Nara, Wakayama
(10 prefectures, 4 ordinance-designated cities, and 4 core cities)

City of Matsuyama (1 core city)

Prefecture: Nagasaki
City: Nagasaki
(1 prefecture and 1 core city)

Prefectures: Yamagata, Tokyo, Shizuoka, Okayama, Kagawa, Kumamoto, Miyazaki
Cities: Koriyama, Okayama, Kurashiki, Takamatsu, Kumamoto, Miyazaki
(7 prefectures and 6 core cities)

Prefectures: Kyoto, Oita
City: Oita

 “Outdoor Advertising Research Forum, DEC popularization presentation lecture” in Sapporo  
“Outdoor Advertising Research Forum, DEC nationwide popularization presentation lecture” was held by the Hokkaido branch of the All Japan Neon-Sign Association on August 9 (Tuesday) at Sapporo Royal Hotel. The speaker was Professor Koichi Shimizu of the Faculty of Business Administration, Josai University, (Chairman of the Outdoor Advertising Research Forum). The title of the speech was “Revitalization of Outdoor Advertising and the Effect Index, Popularization of the National Standard Index DEC” and the presentation was made using PowerPoint. More than 50 people attended the presentation, including members of the All Japan Neon-Sign Association, officials from the regulatory authority and advertising agencies.
