 Interviewed by the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan.    
On the afternoon of Monday, June 12th, Ms. Gabriel Kennedy of the “ACCJ Journal”, the bulletin of the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan, visited our office for a special feature article about neon signs. Mr. Itano, the Chairman of the All Japan Neon-Sign Association met Ms. Kennedy at the conference room of our headquarters. Ms. Kennedy who has been living in Japan for many years mentioned that she was impressed with the superb neon signs in Japan. She interviewed Mr. Itano on various aspects of neon signs including their history and regulation.
 
 “Sogo Hodo Awards/OOH Awards” The Most-Excellent Award was given to origami “Senbazuru”  
“Sogo Hodo OOH Awards” are sponsored by the Sogo Hodo and supported by the All Japan Neon Sign Association and other sponsors. This year’s theme was “What is the future of the OOH?” and 47 works were submitted to the contest. The Most-Excellent Award was given for the first time in four years and three other awards, one Excellent and two Fine, were given. The Most-Excellent Award was given to Yohei Saito, a 23-year-old college student, for his work titled “SENBAZURU Fund Raising by Origami Advertising”.(Shown in the Photo)

The award presentation ceremony was titled “25th Sogo Hodo Communication Plaza 2006” and held on June 9th at La Finat on the Tokyo Ginza. Over 100 people from related business circles attended this ceremony.

The judges were Kiyoshi Sasaki, Design Dept. of Takenaka Kohmuten, Hisao Taki, Representative Director of NKB, Iwao Yokoyama, Representative Director of Aoi Neon and Director of the All Japan Neon-Sign Association, Iwao Namba, Representative Director of Clip Communications, and Rian Ihara, Representative Director of Rian Ihara Design Office.
